Girl in the Mirror

Today is my daughter's birthday! This has really made me think about the passage of time. When I first hung this mirror in her bedroom, she was only 10. I hung it at an adult height, and promised that she would grow. At first she could see her whole face only in tiptoes. But the years passed quickly, and soon she could also see all of her lovely neck and shoulders. Now, she is 20 and rarely home anymore.  The mirror is empty most of the time; the little girl is gone :(

Perfect Day

This is my idea of a perfect day: sunrise, sunset, squirrels, cats, birds, stars! And I would be drinking coffee, reading the paper, & knitting!

Plate of Cookies

It's baking time, for the holidays! These are the family favorites: daughter loves the chocolate mountains with white chocolate chips; son loves basic chocolate chip; husband loves iced gingerbread cookies; I love oatmeal with butterscotch chips.

Turkey

A lone turkey wanders in my neighborhood this year.  Last year we had two turkey brothers, and the year before that, we had two moms and 5 baby turkeys! (I think the brothers were some of the babies, all grown up).

Miniature Garden

I put together a miniature garden, using an old Narcissus bulb tray, an arch and some little gift ceramics from my family.
I'm pleased with the results!

Rain Boots

Tut tut; looks like rain! It's raining today, yay. We were in the middle of a drought. These are my daughter's rain boots. I pulled them out of her closet, because she's finally going to need them.

Pikachu

Our family has enjoyed the Pokemon shows, cards, and games for many years. (15?)
My son and I are now watching the new Pokemon Origin series on cable. It's only in Japanese with subtitles, but somehow that just makes it better :)

Raking Leaves

Gidget helps me do my chores. She loves autumn. When I rake up a pile of leaves, she buries a tennis ball in the middle. Then she jumps in and digs it back out :)

Copper Molds

This is my collection of copper molds. I have jello molds, cookie cutters, pans. They hang on my kitchen walls, above the curtains.

Dr. Who's Tardis

This is for all of the many Dr. Who fans out there. My son and I watch the series.
If you haven't seen the show, this is an English phone booth. A "Doctor" travels in it, and saves the world from supernatural troubles. The Tardis is bigger inside!

Mums

Chrysanthemums are seen everywhere in November. I usually get a pot or two from Trader Joes.
