I chose these colors for my knitting, and my husband just happened to choose nearly the same colors for the day. And he never notices what I'm knitting, so it must've been a coincidence :)
Edit: This blog is no longer in use. I have now moved over to Instagram. My Instagram account is @suregal27. Be sure to say hello to me over there! This blog was started to document my personal challenge of knitting a different patch every day for a year. I learned to knit in January 2013, and I started the challenge on March 1st, 2013. These daily patches became a journal of sorts, showing moments from my family's everyday life.

Candy Bowl
This is my blue glass candy bowl, given to me by my mother-in-law. It's filled with Murano glass candies! The bowl stays on my dining table, on a Battenberg lace table runner.

Dog Day
It's a happy dog's life! Nothing Gidget likes better than to sit on her patch of grass near the street, with the fire hydrant close by, and chew her bone.

Red Rug
This rug from Kohl's saved my cat's life when he was a baby. When we brought little Dasher home, we noticed that he was very interested in dashing all about, and climbing the stair railings. A bad combination. We figured that we had better get some extra rugs, just in case. Sure enough, the day after we put the rug down, kitty fell off the railing! It literally scared the poop out of him, but other than a broken toenail, he was fine.

Moving Day
My daughter is moving to her new college apartment today. I think she had so much fun this summer that she hates to leave. Her new roommates are all strangers right now. But I think she's going to like it once she settles in.

Bench
This is the top of the stone bench in my back yard. It has a stained glass butterfly pattern. The bench was an anniversary gift from my parents.

Toontown
Disney's online multi-player game called Toontown ends tomorrow. I'm very sad.
This game lasted 10 years, and even helped my son learn to read. I'm convinced that both of my children want a career in computer engineering because they loved this game.
My toon (the one on the patch) is named Trixie Pinkerjinks.

Roses
I am collecting things in this pattern for my daughter's new apartment. Her bedroom will have a grass-green blanket, with rose-red sheets. I've found a rose garland to hang from her curtains, and the cutest rose pillow! No art so far - everything out there is either poppies or pumpkins!

Vase
Big flower in a little vase.
My daughter gave me the beautiful red porcelain vase for my birthday last year. It's handmade from a place in town. She remembered that I liked their red-glazed pottery. So sweet of her!

Pheasant
A pheasant has been hanging out in my backyard all summer, eating birdseed we set out. I discovered its nest last night, behind some bushes. No eggs yet.

Hot Air Balloon
Reno is having the Great Balloon Race today. I wish I could see it. There is an app to track favorite balloons. One looks like Darth Vader!
When I was 21, I rode in a hot air balloon. It was exciting!
